I looked into the extended rules here on the forums and I couldn't find anything about identifying bodies. I've heard that there is some sort of "grace" period when someone dies to identify the body, but I haven't gotten any clarification on: A. How long this "grace" period is and B. What this period of time grants you. Sometimes I've been told you're given a short period of time to identify the body and if you don't you can be killed. Other times I've been told if you kill someone within that short period of time for not identifying the body it's not considered RDM. I'd just like to know exactly what the rules are on identifying bodies.
How long is this grace period: 5 seconds. What does this grace period grant you?: This grace period applies to players who kill a Traitor, but get killed for it. Player A kills Player B who is a Traitor, but Player C sees that Player A ID'S the body but still kills him because Player C thinks that Player A killed an innocent. Basically, you have a 5 second grace period to realize that the body is a traitor, and after that 5 second grace period. If you get killed after 5 seconds "For killing somebody" it'd be RDM because it was a traitor. And if you kill someone for not Identifying the body, that just follows killing for walking past an UNID'd body. @Dick Buttermuffin Does this answer your question?
And to add to that, if a player identifies the body that they've passed or did not identify prior, you can no longer kill them for not identifying that body.
PROTIP: Always remember the name of the body. This way, if you get reported, you'll be able to accurately describe the event and aid in your acquittal.
I appreciate your response but that was really confusing. I think what you're trying to say is: If someone were to kill a Traitor and then identify the body as a Traitor and another innocent kills that player, as long as it was within five second of the body being identified, it is not considered RDM? I think I get what you're trying to say. It's just difficult to explain.
